I invite members, non-members, directors, volunteers - or if you would just like to fin out what we have achieved this year - to attend this year's AGM and to celebrate with us our 40th year as your Chamber.
2017 was my second year in office and, in spite of an exceptionally busy year for all our businesses, we maintained our usual full services.
We are a volunteer group made up of executives, board members and general members who give our time to support the Chamber.
The Office beside the Locks:
We maintained the office beside the locks on a full-time basis. Open seven days a week in the summer and five in the winter our office provides a consistent source of information to travellers and local folk. Paired with the Service Ontario Desk and the support of you, our members, we were able to provide these hours and bring people into the office. Here we offer support and information about our member businesses.
Information goes out to several thousand people who come in, call, email or search the website, Facebook and on other social media each year.
Each year the Chamber produces at least 3 major events to bring people to bring people and attention to Bobcaygeon.
The Canada US Walleye fishing contest in May, Unlock the Summer in June, and CruiseFest in September.
Each year these events require promotion, so we broadcast Bobcaygeon events throughout Ontario and the Northern States, drawing visits from inside and outside the area.
We partner with other organizations whenever possible to extend Bobcaygeon's presence. The Chamber showcases Bobcaygeon, provides member information and draws visitors to town, and can only do this with member support. See you at the AGM!
To provide leadership, support and communication for a healthy business community, and to ensure a high quality of life for all.
