VOLUNTEER with COMMUNITY CARE

Volunteering with Community Care City of Kawartha Lakes Health and Support Services is a fantastic opportunity for you to help enable seniors and special needs clients remain independent in their communities.  Volunteers are needed in many program areas and services throughout the City of Kawartha Lakes.  If you are available for a few hours to help at a fundraising event or if you are looking for a volunteer opportunity to keep you involved on a more regular basis, we will work with you to find your best fit with Community Care.  Volunteers are currently needed to help with the Adult Day programs, Transportation, Friendly Visiting, Meals on Wheels and Office Assistance.

20-21 Boyd Heritage Museum - July two day book sale, Friday July 20 from 9 a.m. - 2 p.m. and Saturday 9 a.m. to 2 p.m.  
21 The Kawartha Marine Modellers will hold their annual "FUNFLOAT" for radio controlled ship models in conjunction with their first annual model TUGBOAT Regatta at Riverview Park on River Park Dr. on Saturday July 21 from 10AM until approx. 4PM. Models as diverse as battleships to mahogany cruisers will be on display and running in the river. The Tugboat regatta will entail model radio control tugs maneuvering barges up to 2.5 meters long and weighting up to 200 Kgs. around a marked course on the river with judging on how well it is performed. There will also be a salvage event where a derelict will be rescued by a tug and brought back to "port" all under radio control. (705) 731-6228
