PUBLIC CONSULTATION MEETING REGARDING A BY-LAW TO LICENCE AND REGULATE CERTAIN BUSINESSES IN THE CITY OF KAWARTHA LAKES:
The City of Kawartha Lakes is seeking public input for a by-law to licence, regulate and govern the following businesses:
Adult Entertainment Establishments; Billiard Halls & Places of Amusement; Peddlers; Refreshment Vehicles, Salvage Yards; Second Hand Shops; Second Hand Dealers & Pawn Brokers; Special Events; and Trailer Parks & Campgrounds. |
This same by-law is also proposed to eliminate the licencing of: trades and contractors; horse drawn vehicles; hair dressing establishments; tobacco sales; transient traders & firework sales.
All interested parties are invited to submit written comments and/or attend any of the following scheduled meetings:
- Saturday, October 19 - 9:30 am to noon at the Woodville Town Hall, 100A King St, Woodville
- Saturday, October 26 - 9:30 am to noon at the Kinmount Community Centre, 2 Dickson St, Kinmount
- Saturday, November 9 - 9:30 am to noon at Coronation Hall, 1 King St W, Omemee

ONTARIO’S TOURISM OUTLOOK:
The Ministry of Tourism & Recreation Forecasting Model predicts that the number of U.S. and overseas visitors will increase by 5.0% in the third quarter and by 10.6% in the fourth quarter of 2002 (over the same periods of 2001).
Moderately strong growth is expected to continue through 2003, with modest growth in 2004 to 2006.
