GREAT CANADIAN
BBQ:
As we all know by now, the Canadian beef industry is in dire straits as
a result of the closure of key international markets to Canadian beef
and beef by-products. That’s why the Kinsmen and Kinette Clubs of
Canada have come up with an initiative called BBQ Canada. The project
calls for Canadians from east to west to participate in the largest national
BBQ in history on Labour Day, Sept. 1, 2003 and in the process claim a
place in the Guinness Book of World Records. The overall goal is to feed
4 million Canadians 1 million pounds of Canadian beef in a testimony to
the safety of Canadian beef and in support of an industry in crisis.
Anyone can register. If you are an individual, you can simply register
and indicate the amount of beef you will consume on September 1. Following
that date, a certificate of participation will be available to you from
the BBQ Canada website. To register and show your support for the Canadian
beef industry visit www.bbqcanada.ca or call Doug Robinson at 1-519-942-4700.
