COMMUNITIES IN BLOOM:
Communities in Bloom is a non-profit Canadian organization committed to fostering civic pride, environmental responsibility and beautification through community participation and the challenge of a friendly competition.
If you know of an individual, business or group that has made an effort to beautify our area, nominate them for a Green Thumb Garden Award! There are many categories to choose from including; residential garden, residential complex, commercial business, downtown business and more. Certain restrictions do apply, so stop by our office to pick up a nomination form with all the details or call The Parks, Recreation and Culture office at 324-9411 ext. 350. Nominations are due by Friday, June 25, 2004.

THE BEST OF BROADWAY:
The Bobcaygeon Choristers present The Best of Broadway under the direction of George Hedge with accompaniment of Nona Erskine on Sunday June 27th at 2:00 pm at the Bobcaygeon Royal Canadian Legion.

OFFICE CLOSURE:
Please be advised that our office will be closed on the afternoon of Thursday, June 17th. Chris Moore, who has been with us for just over 3 years, is graduating from Police Foundations at Fleming College. We will be closing at noon so the office staff can attend the ceremony.

SETTLERS’ DAY 2004:
Visit the Kawartha Settlers’ Village on Saturday, June 19th between 9:00 am and 7:30 pm for a full day of enjoyment for the whole family. A Pancake Breakfast begins at 9:00 am, Strawberry Social at noon and Pig Roast at 5:30 pm. (Tickets sold in advance for Breakfast and Pig Roast at McCardle’s and Strang’s Valu-Mart Garden Centre). Pioneer family camps will be on site with everyday living experiences. There will also be live entertainment, children’s puppet show, Teddy Bear Parade at 1:30 pm, Great Canadian Pie Sale and so much more. Please phone 738-6163 for more information. Admission is only $3.00 for adults, $1.00 for children 6 to 12 and children under 6 are free.

GARDEN TOUR:
The 8th Annual Bobcaygeon & District Horticultural Society Garden Tour takes place on Saturday, July 17 from 10:00 a.m. - 4:00 p.m. There will be lovely gardens to enjoy and new this year, painters from Brush Strokes of Bobcaygeon will be creating artwork at each stop. Tickets are only $10.00 each and may be purchased at our office and at a variety of merchants.
