AWARDS OF EXCELLENCE 2006
We are pleased to announce that our Outstanding Business Achievement award will now be presented in memory of Robert “Bob” Jokinen. We thank his family for allowing us to honour Bob in this way. Bob’s involvement in the business community was well known, along with his commitment to our service groups, and the

Awards of Excellence committee was unanimous in their decision to honour Bob this way.

Additionally, we are pleased that Charlie Devenish has agreed to allow us to name the Outstanding Service/Volunteer Organization award in his honour. Everyone knows the outstanding service that Charlie has provided to our area and the Awards of Excellence committee feels this is a wonderful way to permanently recognize him.

Please take a minute to think about someone you feel has made a difference in the village over the past year and fill out the nomination form attached to this Chamber Update. The deadline for submission of nominations for the Awards of Excellence is Friday, March 17th, 2006 at 5:00 pm.

The Awards of Excellence committee is still looking for sponsors for the Outstanding Business Achievement and Outstanding Volunteer/Service Organization awards. For just

$150.00 you can sponsor either of these awards. Included with your sponsorship is a ticket for the 8th Annual Spring Social Banquet & Auction, inclusion in the program for the evening as the sponsor, and you will be able to assist with the presentation of the award. 8TH ANNUAL SPRING SOCIAL BANQUET & AUCTION
In conjunction with Kawartha Settlers’ Village, we are pleased to announce that tickets are now available for the 8th Annual Spring Social Banquet & Auction, to be held on Saturday, April 29th at Caygeon Lanes. This is always a sold-out event so please reserve your tickets early to avoid disappointment. Call, or drop into, the Chamber office to reserve/pick-up your tickets.
