WELCOME NEW MEMBERS:
We are pleased to welcome the following new members:
GAMIING, Centre for Sustainable Lakeshore Living Inc. This non-profit organization is concerned with the degradation of lakes, lakeshores, streams, ponds and wetlands. They provide native trees, plants and shrubs for naturalization/rehabilitation of lakeshores. GAMIING offers Eco-Guardian programs for schools and community groups, as well as approximately 10 kms of trails for hiking or skiing. We would also like to welcome S.E.A.L. (Sustainable, Ecological Alternatives for Living), another non-profit organization. They are interested in promoting sound environmental practices through education. S.E.A.L. meets the first Sunday of the month at 2:30 pm at the Full Cup Café. All are welcome. ONTARIO- A LEADER IN LEARNING:
We now have a copy of the Report & Recommendations by Bob Rae, for the Ministry of Training Colleges & Universities. Stop by our office to take a look at this comprehensive publication outlining strategies to improve higher education.

DRINKING WATER REGULATIONS:
On February 2nd, the Ontario Chamber of Commerce met with the Minister of Environment and her Senior Policy Advisor to discuss Drinking Water Systems Regulation O. Reg 170/03. The Minister informed the OCC that she has heard the concerns of the small business owners and the regulations are currently undergoing another review.

AWARDS OF EXCELLENCE:
Just a quick reminder that the deadline for The Awards of Excellence nominations is March, 25th. If you need a copy of the form, please pick one up at our office or visit www.bobcaygeon.org/ nomination.html. The awards will be presented at the 7th Annual Spring Social, being held on Saturday, April 30th. Tickets for this “elegantly casual” evening are now available at our office.

WORLD DAY OF PRAYER:
The Knox Presbyterian Church will be holding a worship service on Friday, March 4th at 2:00pm. Bethel Christian Fellowship Pentecostal Assembly, Christ Anglican Church, Lakes Fellowship, Our Lady Queen of Peace Catholic Church and Trinity United Church will also be participating. Both men and women are encouraged to join in this service which is being celebrated around the world. Guest speaker will be Rev. Carey Jo Johnston. Call 738-2397.
