AWARDS OF EXCELLENCE
2006
The time has come again. The Bobcaygeon & Area Chamber of Commerce
is now accepting nominations for the 2006 Awards of Excellence. Nominations
are being accepted in the following four categories: Citizen of the Year
- L.E. “Ted” Shea Memorial Award; Business Leader of the Year
- Roberta “Robbie” DeClute Memorial Award; Outstanding Business
Achievement; and Outstanding Service/Volunteer Organization.
Please take a minute to think about someone you feel has made a difference
in the village over the past year and fill out the nomination form attached
to this Chamber Update. The deadline for submission of nominations for
the Awards of Excellence is Friday, March 17th, 2006 at 5:00 pm. For further
information on the Awards of Excellence, please contact the committee

AWARDS OF EXCELLENCE SPONSORSHIP OPPORTUNITIES
We are pleased this year to offer our members the opportunity to also
recognize the honourees of our Awards of Excellence by sponsoring one
of the categories. Each sponsor will receive: one ticket to the Spring
Social Banquet & Auction; your name and/or business name noted in
the Awards program as sponsor of the appropriate award; and be able to
assist with the presentation of your sponsored award. The cost of sponsorship
is $150.00 and will be offered on a first come basis. Please contact Cindy
at the office (738-2202) to make your arrangements. These awards have
become very important to the community and we hope you will join with
us for their presentation.
“BOBCAYGEON IN BLOOM” EASTER PARADE
Everyone is invited to participate in the First Annual “Bobcaygeon
in Bloom” Easter and Spring Parade. To be held on Saturday, April
15th at 11:00 am, the parade will travel along |
Main Street to Market Square where the Easter
Bunny will hand out goodies to the boys and girls. If you would like to
participate, contribute or donate supplies, please call Lisa Dever at

FREE PST & GST SEMINAR
The Small Business Enterprise Centre is hosting a free PST and GST Seminar
on Monday, March 27th from 6-9 pm at City Hall, 26 Francis St., Lindsay.
The seminar, designed for small to medium sized businesses, is a joint
presentation of the provincial and federal governments. The seminar leaders
will discuss how taxes work, explain tax credits and overpayments, help
identify the similarities and differences between PST and GST, and clarify
responsibilities for collecting and remitting the two taxes. Seating is
