It is a well-known fact that family-owned businesses play a significant role in the economy. They generate more than 45% of Canada's gross domestic product (GDP) according to figures from the Canadian Association of Family Enterprise. It then becomes abundantly clear that family-owned businesses need to start to plan for the succession. For most business owners, the establishment of a business succession plan is key to ensuring the continued survival and success of a family-owned business. |
Recognizing the critical importance of family business succession planning, the Lindsay & District Chamber of Commerce is organizing a seminar with BDO Dunwoody LLP and the Ontario Ministry of Agriculture, Food and Rural Affairs (OMAFRA) providing practical advice and material on the topic of succession planning.
|
These seminars will include practical advice on key issues like family dynamics in business and succession; the role of advisors; emotional factors and conflict within the family & business; and preparing a plan. A component of the seminar will be the analysis and discussion of a detailed case study and real life examples. This will help create an understanding of the challenges families will face as they develop their own succession plan. HURRY!! Register Today. How to Register: |
