Petition:
HIGHWAY 35 FOUR-LANING
To the Legislative Assembly of Ontario:
WHEREAS modern highways are economic lifelines to communities across Ontario and crucial to the growth of Ontario's economy; and
WHEREAS the Ministry of Transportation has been planning the expansion of Highway 35, and that expansion has been put on hold by the McGuinty government; and
WHEREAS Highway 35 provides an important economic link in the overall transportation system - carrying commuter, commercial and high tourist volumes to and from Kawartha Lakes area and Haliburton; and
WHEREAS the final round of public consultation has just been rescheduled;
WE, the undersigned petition the Legislative Assembly of Ontario as follows:
That the Liberal government move swiftly to complete the four-laning for highway 35 after the completion of the final public consultation.
