2008 Awards of Excellence Nominations
The Bobcaygeon & Area Chamber of Commerce will honour individuals, businesses
and youth for outstanding leadership, achievement, and citizenship. Award
winners will be announced at a date to be announced in the near future.
If you would like to nominate an individual, business or group, please
complete the form below and submit in writing the reasons why you believe
the nominee is worthy of the award.

Citizen of the Year - L.E. "Ted" Shea Memorial Award
This prestigious award is given annually to a resident (or honourary resident) of Bobcaygeon and area who is 18 years of age or older and has contributed to the community in a manner above and beyond the limits of the candidates
normal job or occupation. Nominations will be judged on total benefit to the community. The contribution of the candidate should be of a volunteer nature. Please include special efforts made by the nominee and the effect that their efforts have had on the community.

Business Leader of the Year - Roberta "Robbie" DeClute Memorial Award
This award recognizes and honours a business person that has been a leader in moving the town and area forward or has been responsible for improvements to the town or area. Selection criteria include demonstrated entrepreneurial spirit, quality workmanship, professional manner and exemplary service to the business community. Please note the above criteria in the nomination.

Outstanding Business Achievement - Robert "Bob" Jokinen Memorial
Award
The purpose of this award is to recognize and honour businesses. Nominations
should include one or more of the following award criteria - increased
employment to the town and area, marked increase in sales, demonstrated
product innovation/technological advancements, environment leadership
and sound business standards and ethics.

Devenish Award
The purpose of this award is to recognize and honour local service, volunteer,
non-profit and charitable organizations. Nominations should include one
or more of the following award criteria - outstanding community spirit,
support and assistance to the local community, and local community leadership.

Outstanding Youth
The purpose of this award is to recognize and local youth aged 18 and
under for their contribution, through their volunteer activities or otherwise,
to the betterment of the Village of Bobcaygeon and surrounding area.
