When visiting Bobcaygeon, there are certain activities that we recommend you do in order to truly experience our village. You must stroll along Bolton, King, Main and East Streets and pop into some of our great shops and galleries.

During your shopping expedition, take a moment at Lock 32 to watch the Trent-Severn Waterway's oldest swing bridge in action. While you are on Canal Street, stop by our office for some great reading material on the area and a handy map of town (or click here to view a map).

Located next door to us is the Boyd Heritage Museum, filled with interesting facts and memorabilia on the early days in Bobcaygeon. Continue your history lesson by visiting the Kawartha Settlers' Village. Located on Dunn St., this nine-acre property is a village-style assembly of historic homes and buildings. Feel free to wander about and take in the sites. Events, courses and activities happen at KSV throughout the year, so please check our events section to see if anything is planned during your stay. There are also many activities for the outdoor enthusiasts. We have some of the best fishing in Ontario, public beaches, several golf courses in the area, mini-golf, boat cruises, rentals (boats, kayaks, personal watercrafts, towables, etc.) and charters. We have public parks, a ball diamond, basketball, tennis courts, lawn bowling and a skateboard park. If you visit while there is snow on the ground, we have excellent snowmobile trails. You could also visit the Highlands Cinemas in Kinmount or Century Cinema in Lindsay.

If you are not much of a nature lover, never fear, there is plenty to do. Once you have exhausted yourself in our fabulous shops, museums and art galleries, treat yourself to a massage, manicure or pedicure at one of our great spas. We have a couple of workout facilities, one specifically for ladies and one with a pool. There are also a variety of courses, lessons and classes available for many activities within the City of Kawartha Lakes. Bobcaygeon offers a variety of events throughout the year including our Spring Social Banquet and Auction, numerous fishing tournaments, opening of the lock festivities, plant and flower sales, home and garden shows and tours, Canada Day parade and fireworks, Jeep jamborees, Ontario Open Fiddle & Step Dance Competition, antique and classic car show, a fall fair, Festival of Trees, Christmas Galas and much more!
